Carleton Varney introduced a classy take on Caribbean type to Janis and Duane Bobeck’s seafront residence on St. Croix, designed by architect Hortensia D. Lanio. The grasp bedroom’s gracious plantation bed was custom-made by a Jamaican artisan in collaboration with Patrice Wymore Flynn, Errol Flynn’s widow. Above it, Varney, who labored with colleagues Dan Parker and Andee Schell, organized colorful floral pictures.
